About Me
Hello I’m Libby! I’ve just graduated from Cambridge, and still live here with my two dogs and cat. I was home educated until 16, so taught myself my GCSEs – and carried that ability into sixth form where a timetabling clash meant I had to teach myself 2 A Levels as well. I like all things medieval, particularly the textiles, and dabbled in archaeology during university. I’ve played music all my life, singing in lots of choirs (including the National Youth Choir) and playing in orchestras from 6 all the way through university.
I like getting to know my students and tailoring the tutoring to their needs, working out how I can be of most help to you. I understand how frustrating it can be to not understand exam material, and how annoying it is to be stuck on a lower grade than you want, but I can help you with both of them.
My teaching style
I try to help my students understand the context of the issues they are struggling with, I find this is the best way to fully grasp the topic. I am also experienced helping students stuck on mid-level grades access the top marks by tweaking question technique and adding that last bit of information.
My past experience
I have experience tutoring music, music technology, psychology and English language all at A Level, as well as giving music lessons (general music, violin, singing, and music theory).
My Proudest Achievements
Among my proudest achievements are helping my little sister’s friend get her first university offer, building a medieval loom from scratch, performing a concert of entirely reconstructed medieval music to a packed audience, and getting a grade I was proud of in my degree.
