About Me
I am a second year Law student studying Scots Law and English Law at the University of Aberdeen. For my A Levels I studied English, Film Studies and Philosophy and Ethics. I chose to study law because I was interested in the way in which law governs society and the way in which different generations, cultural shifts and changing ideologies affect the law. I think its important to understand the rules and regulations that we are bound by because understanding allows people to gain perspective and I believe gaining perspective is a uniquely human experience. To balance my academic commitments I do a lot of creative arts. I have worked as an event decorator, I write music, I am part of my university’s drama society and love to watch films. If its your typical creative kinda thing.. I’m there.
My teaching style
I usuallt like to ask students what kind of learner they are and I will try to tailor the lesson for them but if they are unsure or do not prefer a specific teaching style then my method is to explain concepts, give visual examples and then allow students to try it on their own, and ‘tinker’ with those concepts to try to understand and apply them practically and not just theoretically.
My Proudest Achievements
Moving to Scotland for university is one of mine. It was a stressful process and there were various times where I had to battle with doubt, worries and insecurites concerning the move but I did it and I adjusted. It is the most independent thing I’ve ever done and is one of the most character building experiences I have had, and I am most proud of the fact that it was my choice and on my terms for my benefit.
