About Me

Hi! My name is Hamid and I am a first year medical student at King’s College London. I’m really excited to be able to help students who were in my exact position 1-3 years ago as I know it can be really challenging and stressful. That feeling you get after receiving an offer from a medical school after years of hard work and anticipation is magical and something I want to help as many people as possible achieve.

I am originally Persian and I have lived in Tehran, Dubai and I moved to London this year to start medicine at King’s as an international student, so I can appreciate the application process for people from different backgrounds as well.

I love traveling, going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and trying to learn new languages… even though I’m really bad at it :(( (currently trying to learn Turkish and Arabic)

My teaching style

I like to have an informal and friendly atmosphere in my lessons as I feel that I have always benefitted from that myself; moreover, I really believe in strengthening fundamental knowledge before moving on to more complicated niche topics. I feel that this makes progression smoother and easier for my students.

As well as this, to consolidate knowledge I really stress the importance of active recall flash cards and exam-style questions. Overall, the most important thing for me is finding something that the student has fun learning as that is what will motivate sustained effort in the long term on their end.

My past experience

I used to spend my free time in school peer-mentoring and being a private tutor to my classmates and this is where I found out how much i really enjoy teaching.

My Proudest Achievements

First and foremost, getting into medicine at KCL — this was always a big dream for me and the feeling I had when I finally got an offer was so surreal.
Secondly, getting 870 in AR in the UCAT. This was the hardest section for me at the start of my practice and at the end, with lots of hard work, became my best section.
My GCSE and A-level grades.
In my personal life, I’m really proud of the balance i have achieved and my progress in the gym.
