Hi, I’m Ayush.
I live in Greater London.
I studied at Wilson’s school, one of the highest-ranked grammar schools in the country, from year 7 to 13.
I achieved 7 grade 9’s (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Latin, German, RE), 2 grade 8’s (geography and business) and 2 grade 7’s (English Literature and Language) at GCSE. At A-level I achieved A*A*A*A* in biology, chemistry, maths and economics. I also received 4 offers to study medicine and am now a second year medical student at King’s College London for the next 5-6 years.
Outside of my studies I enjoy watching and playing football, playing table tennis with my brother, travelling and playing the violin. I previously enjoyed working towards grades in LAMDA (speech and drama), most recently receiving my gold medal for passing grade 8 with a distinction. Though this experience, I developed my communication skills and view this as one of my most valuable extra-curricular activities.
My teaching style
My teaching style is interactive and engaging. By encouraging students to play an active role in their own learning, I believe that students will both enjoy and benefit from tuition sessions with me. Furthermore, I aim to make sessions as open as possible to encourage students to share any concerns or gaps in their knowledge so that they can gain as much as possible from our sessions.
My past experience
I have previously helped out at my secondary school’s ‘biology drop-in’, where I helped students improve their GCSE biology exam technique and knowledge. Through this experience, I improved my teaching technique, enabling me to help future students more effectively.
I also participated in my secondary school’s mentoring scheme, helping one of my peers improve their A-level exam technique (they are now studying medicine at Queen Mary University of London).
