Dr Twumasi previously worked as a Clinical Trials Statistician at Imperial College London and held a postdoctoral position in Biostatistics at the University of Oxford’s Department of Statistics. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from Cardiff University in 2021 as a Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholar, specialising in mathematical and stochastic modelling of biological systems. He also completed an MPhil in Statistics at the University of Ghana with a perfect GPA (4.0/4.0), and his master’s thesis was awarded Best Mathematics Research in Ghana (2018) across all universities. I have an accredited teaching fellowship with Advance Higher Education (HE) in the UK, demonstrating my teaching competence.
He serves as an academic reviewer for leading Q1, high-impact journals, including PLOS One, PLOS Computational Biology, the International Journal of Forecasting and other Springer Nature Q1 journals (including Discover Artificial Intelligence & Scientific Reports journals), reviewing work on advanced time-series modelling, machine learning, infectious disease modelling and mathematical biology.
Alongside his research career, Dr Twumasi is a passionate and highly effective educator. He has extensive experience delivering 1-to-1 online tutoring in mathematics and statistics at all levels, including university and postgraduate study, through one of the UK’s leading tutoring providers, The Profs Tutors. He also teaches R programming and advanced statistical methods on his YouTube channel, “Clement Twumasi Educative Channel” with over 25K+ subscribers. He has also supported students preparing for professional and admissions exams such as the SAT, ACT, GMAT, and GRE (Mathematics) over the years. In addition, he has guided many students through university-entry applications, particularly for postgraduate programmes, including Master’s and PhD applications, both within and outside the UK.
Dr Twumasi has successfully mentored and supported many students in gaining admission to top universities in the UK and internationally. He is known for his clear explanations, structured teaching approach, and ability to make complex statistical concepts accessible and practical.
He offers expert tutoring and academic support in:

My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centred, supportive, and highly practical. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps using real-world examples and interactive problem-solving. Each session is tailored to the student’s goals—whether exam success, mastering data analysis tools such as R or Python, or developing strong intuition in mathematics and statistics. I have taught students from GCSE and undergraduate level through to postgraduate and PhD researchers, and I adapt my approach to different learning styles. I encourage questions, promote independent thinking, and aim to build both confidence and deep understanding in every learner.
My past experience
Yes, I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience across all academic levels. I am a Teaching Fellow (of AdvanceHE, UK) and previously served as a postgraduate teaching and research assistant during my MSc and PhD. I have taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics and statistics, and I provide one-to-one tutoring for GCSE, A-Level, and university admissions tests (GRE, GMAT, ACT, SAT). I also support Master’s and PhD students with research methods, data analysis, and advanced statistical modelling. Beyond formal teaching, I run the Clement Twumasi Educative Channel on YouTube (26,000+ subscribers), where I teach advanced statistics, R programming, and data science. Many of my students have achieved top grades, high admissions-test scores, and offers from leading universities.
My Proudest Achievements
Some of my proudest achievements include being promoted to Senior Medical Statistician at the University of Oxford (Nuffield Department of Medicine) and earning the Royal Statistical Society Chartered Statistician (CStat) accreditation. I am also a Teaching Fellow of Advance HE (UK). I was selected among the 200 most exceptional mathematicians and computer scientists worldwide for the 8th Heidelberg Laureate Forum (Germany, 2021) and awarded multiple competitive doctoral scholarships, including the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship for Research Excellence at Cardiff University. My academic work has received national recognition, including Best Graduate Research in Mathematics in Ghana and graduating as Best MPhil Statistics Student (GPA 4.0/4.0). I was also nominated for Outstanding Postgraduate Tutor early in my PhD and awarded the UK Global Talent Visa for Exceptional Talent in 2022.
