Anna
About Me
Hello! I’m Anna, a first-year medical student at the University of Leeds. Before embarking on this exciting journey into the world of medicine, I took a gap year, during which I had the opportunity to explore my passion for mentoring whilst also gaining a wealth of experience from working at a GP surgery.
Having recently gone through the rigorous and competitive medical school application process myself, I understand the (unique) challenges and uncertainties that aspiring medical students face (especially post 2020). I’ve gained valuable insights, learned tricks and tips, and have a deep understanding of what it takes to stand out in the application process and am eager to share this knowledge and experience.
As your tutor I am dedicated to helping you reach your goals, whether it’s acing your exams or successfully navigating the path to medical school.
My teaching style
My approach to teaching is centred on simplicity and providing students with tailor made lessons that honour their unique learning styles. I also aim to create an environment in which students feel relaxed and able to ask questions, ensuring that they leave every lesson equipped with a thorough understanding of the session material.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements has been travelling to Taiwan (I was alone for the first 3 weeks), where I took the initiative to learn Mandarin and explore the city. This journey was both challenging and rewarding, as it allowed me to immerse myself in a new culture, develop language skills, and build strong connections with my cousins. Additionally, I found great satisfaction in my work at a GP surgery, where receiving positive feedback from patients underscored the meaningful impact of the work I was doing.
