Jacqueline
About Me
With over 18 years of dedicated teaching experience, I am a highly qualified educator specialising in the intersection of academic excellence and professional performing arts. My journey began in the United Kingdom, where I received world-class training at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance in London, earning both a BA (Hons) in Ballet Education and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
My career has been defined by a rich international trajectory, taking me from the UK and Bermuda to high-stakes leadership roles in Dubai and Baku. Having served as the Assistant Director of Performing Arts at Kent College Dubai and the Head of Creative Arts in Baku, I possess a unique ability to navigate and inspire diverse, multicultural cohorts. I offer a rare dual-specialism: I am equally adept at driving academic progression in Key Stage 3 English and Drama (specifically within the Cambridge and UK National Curricula) as I am at maintaining 100% pass rates for vocational RAD and ISTD examinations.
Living and working globally has made me a highly adaptable practitioner who understands the nuances of international education and the importance of fostering transferable skills like confidence and creative communication. Whether I am guiding a student through the complexities of English Literature, preparing a candidate for a BTEC Level 3 assessment, or coaching a dancer toward an Advanced level RAD exam, my approach is always rooted in pedagogical excellence and a passion for shaping well-rounded, successful learners.
My teaching style
My teaching is rooted in active learning, a highly engaging method that moves beyond passive listening to ensure students truly grasp the material. I design every lesson around activities that are relatable to each specific age group, making complex concepts in English, Drama, or Dance feel accessible and exciting. I know that consistent growth requires clear communication. I provide frequent and regular feedback, giving students and parents a transparent roadmap of their progress toward achieving top-tier results. My goal is to create a supportive yet high-achieving environment where every student feels confident to reach their full potential
My past experience
I have over 18 years of international teaching and leadership experience. This includes 12 years in the UK and Bermuda, followed by 6 years in high-level roles in Dubai and Baku, such as Assistant Director of Performing Arts and Head of Creative Arts. I am a PGCE-qualified specialist with a proven track record of 100% pass rates across BTEC and vocational dance exams, as well as extensive experience tutoring Key Stage 3 English and Drama
