13About Me
My name is Wisdom Nzubechukwu Obiefu, a 6th-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Niš, Serbia. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BScMLS) from Imo State University (2013-2018) and am a licensed medical laboratory scientist. My academic foundation lies in a BSc. in Medical Laboratory Science from Imo State University class of 2018, a qualification that has paved the way for me to become a licensed medical laboratory scientist. The pursuit of knowledge and excellence in healthcare has been a driving force throughout my educational endeavors hence I proceeded for a second degree in Medicine in Ukraine but got transferred to Serbia because of the war in Ukraine.
In addition to my academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, I am an active member of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). This affiliation has provided me with invaluable opportunities to engage with a global community of like-minded individuals, fostering a holistic approach to medical education.
Away from the professional realm, I find joy and rejuvenation in diverse hobbies. Whether immersing myself in the pages of a compelling book, harmonizing with the melodies of music, experimenting with culinary creations, or exploring the outdoors through hiking, each activity adds a layer of richness to my life.
My teaching style
Every first lesson that I do for my students is always a mini-test of past questions paper, to test their knowledge on the subject and get to know what topic they struggle with the most. After that, each lesson is tailored to working on the topic they need more reinforcement.
Each lesson starts with a bit of theoretical explanation and ends with practice questions on the topic that was just learned. Every other lesson’s structure depends on what the student is doing at school, their syllabus, and what needs to be worked on.
My motto is that there is “nothing impossible that you cannot achieve” – So, I want to motivate my students that nothing is impossible if you put your mind and hard work into it. Knowing that every person understands differently. Hence, I plan each session around each student’s individual needs and be patient with the time they take to comprehend each topic completely.
My past experience
I have had experience tutoring Primary and High school kids, even to the extent of helping my coursemates in core subjects like microbiology.
My Proudest Achievements
I published a research work titled ANTIBACTERIAL EFFECT OF CHROMOLAENA ODORATA (AWOLOWO LEAF) AQUEOUS LEAF EXTRACT ON PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA INDUCED GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT INFECTION IN ADULT WISTAR RAT. Beyond the classroom, I proudly wear the hat of a founder, establishing ExplicitInspire as a platform to channel my aspirations toward inspiring others. This venture reflects my deep-seated belief in the transformative power of encouragement and the ability to instill hope in those who might doubt their capabilities.
