9About Me
Hi there! I’m Mollie, a master’s student at UCL studying for a degree in Advanced Materials Science having previously achieved a 1st Class BA in Architecture with Part IA Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. I have an excellent academic background achieving all A*s at GCSE and A Levels so I know what it takes to be well prepared for these exams and I enjoy the opportunity to tutor other students to achieve the best results possible. I received two offers from Cambridge (Architecture and Natural Sciences) and so have experience across both interview processes and personal statement preparation for top UK universities. I am also a keen sports player having won national titles in hockey at junior level and captaining the 1st XI at Cambridge University during my studies where I also coached the 2nd team. I am a confident but friendly face and have had lots of experience coaching and teaching others at a range of levels which I find a really fulfilling role!
My teaching style
I like to get to know how best each student works – what they find most interesting and most difficult and how to work on their weaker areas in an engaging way. I am a good and creative communicator and I understand that students learn and understand concepts in different ways which I am always happy to figure out and explain, using tips and tricks to help simplify problems that I have learnt over time.
My past experience
I have previous experience tutoring GSCE maths in school and privately and also led classes of 10-15 students during my time in the combined cadet force in sixth form. I also have plenty of experience in sports coaching roles including at university level.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements have been achieving full marks in Maths A Level and the highest result in my year across both Further Maths and Physics alongside getting a First from the University of Cambridge after a lot of hard work. My other highlight at University was winning the Varsity Hockey Match with my team which was an unforgettable day where I was awarded a Full Blue.
