25About Me
I am a passionate economics and math tutor with extensive experience teaching in online and in-person settings. I have taught at the leading universities in the UK and in Pakistan. I am continuously enhancing my capacity as a teacher through completing trainings and workshops.
I completed my SSC/HSSC in Science, an undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics, an MSc in Behavioral Economics, an MRes in Economics and a PhD in Economics. I have achieved distinctions at the school level as well as the university level.
I have been awarded world class scholarships and studentships from Pakistan’s National Outreach Program, the United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
My research has achieved the seedcorn grants from the University of Essex and a small grant from the British Academy (Leverhulme Trust).
My teaching style
I start with a diagnostic test to properly gauge the student’s difficulties in learning. I then plan my lessons keeping in mind the feedback from the diagnostic test and the needs expressed by the student/parent. The lesson is divided into three parts. First, I explain the main concepts. Second, I provide an illustration either through a practical example or by solving an example problem. Finally, I test the student using a short problem. If the student is really weak, then I put a lot of emphasis on the explanation. If I find that the student feels comfortable with the underlying concepts, then we spend more time solving problems or past exam questions.
My past experience
I have been involved with tutoring at the school and the university level for more than 14 years whereas I have been teaching at the university level since 2013.
My Proudest Achievements
I have aced every exam I have taken. I have received scholarships worth more than £350,000 and research grants amounting to £20,000. I have helped many students ace their exams and/or improve their grades.
