Rhian
About Me
Hi, I’m Rhian — a specialist SEND teacher and outreach tutor with extensive experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. I also teach mainstream primary (Year 1–6) and secondary (Year 7–10), including GCSE students preparing for exams. I create calm, structured sessions that build confidence alongside strong academic progress.
With six years of teaching experience across KS1–KS5, I break learning into clear, manageable steps and adapt quickly to each child’s individual needs, whether they require stretch, scaffolding, or regulation support.
I focus on trust first — because when a child feels safe, understood, and capable, real progress happens. My sessions are personalised, consistent, and designed to help every student thrive both academically and emotionally.
My teaching style
Therapeutic, structured and adaptive. I build safety first, use clear step-by-step teaching, and personalise learning to each child’s strengths and needs. I combine high expectations with warmth, consistency, and strong emotional regulation support so pupils feel confident, capable, and ready to succeed.
My past experience
I’m an experienced teacher and outreach tutor working across mainstream and SEND settings. I teach mainstream primary (Year 1–6), secondary (Year 7–10), and GCSE students, alongside supporting learners with autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, MLD/SLD and complex needs.
I have taught across KS1–KS5, including GCSE English, helping students strengthen core skills, exam technique, and confidence.
Whether working 1:1 or in class, I combine clear structure, step-by-step teaching, and strong relationships to ensure pupils feel safe, capable, and ready to make meaningful academic progress.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include completing my NPQLL, reflecting my commitment to leadership and whole-school impact. I achieved Grade 5 in flute, demonstrating dedication and discipline beyond the classroom. I’ve been a qualified teacher for six years, building extensive experience across mainstream and SEND settings. Personally, purchasing my own property is something I’m incredibly proud of — it represents resilience, independence, and long-term commitment, values I also bring to my work with students.
