About Me

I am a BABCP registered Child Therapist and with my experience as a SEN tutor and mental health background I have a holistic approach of teaching. With a Computing Science degree Bsc (Hons), I recognize the technological uses for tutoring. I am a meditation teacher and with a calm voice, trained to calm anxious situations. I am a qualified sleep practitioner for young people in educational settings, providing clinical evidence based support for pupils. I am a former poet laureate nominee of Staffordshire and my creative English talents schools across the region have engaged in poetry and drama. My son has Autism and Global Developmental Delay; as a father i have taught him skills with sensory engagement. This has enriched my own profession as a SEN tutor to provide excellent professional support for other pupils coupled with my therapeutic background. I have experience working at primary schools and also at high schools. I have taught business and IT lessons for Y13 when i was employed as a webmaster for 3 schools. I am also a musician who plays the indian violin.

My teaching style

My teaching style is a hybrid or blended style. I believe creating a strong tutoring alliance is core to learning and shared understanding at a slower pace with focus on pupil engagement. I lead the sessions with enthusiasm and this style is also delivered with praising the pupil and making adjustments according the needs at the session.

My past experience

I have found lack of confidence and self doubt can be a barrier and my role would be not to only instill knowledge and but also a empowering belief of achievement to reach their potential.

My Proudest Achievements

The proudest moment is when the parent did not believe the pupil would be able to be educated in any form. Within 3 months the pupils progressed so swiftly the school was astonished and extended the tutoring contract.
