About Me

I am a science enthusiast who enjoys learning through teaching and supporting others. Throughout my bioengineering journey, I have explored various domains within science, each offering valuable insights that I believe are important for learners at all levels. Growing up in India, I was immersed in a culturally and academically diverse environment, where I completed my bachelor’s degree before joining Imperial College London for my master’s. Before my undergraduate studies, I pursued a science-focused curriculum, studying mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry alongside German and English.
Beyond academics, I am passionate about the intersection of science and spirituality, and I often engage in discussions that connect these two fields. I stay active through gym workouts, martial arts and badminton — activities that have taught me discipline, patience and the importance of consistent practice, values I carry into my teaching approach. Cooking is a creative outlet where I experiment with flavours and techniques, mirroring the curiosity and methodical thinking I apply to scientific research and helping others understand complex concepts. These interests keep me engaged and shape my perspective on life, learning and the world around me.

My teaching style

My teaching style is centred around simplifying complex concepts and adapting explanations to the student’s level of understanding. I use everyday analogies, step-by-step breakdowns, and structured revision to build both clarity and confidence. I strongly believe in interactive learning, so I encourage students to ask questions, discuss their reasoning, and actively engage with problems rather than memorising answers. I also make sure to keep the lesson engaging by discussing fun facts related to the topic!

I also tailor my approach to different age groups—whether it is supporting younger students with foundational knowledge, preparing older students for exams, or mentoring undergraduates in project work and academic writing.

My past experience

I have been working as a part-time tutor in London for over seven months, teaching mathematics and science to students primarily in Years 5–9 based in central London.

My interest in teaching began during my own school years, when I volunteered in Grades 9 and 10 to support younger students (Grades 1–7) in preparing for exams across subjects, including science, social studies, and mathematics. Through this, I not only helped clarify their doubts but also developed the ability to break down complex concepts into simpler, more accessible ideas, while building their confidence through structured revision sessions.

Beyond school, I extended this mentoring role to undergraduate teams participating in national-level hackathons, where I provided guidance on refining their projects, troubleshooting challenges, and presenting ideas effectively to judges. I have also supported my juniors during their bachelor’s studies in preparing statements of purpose and personal statements for higher education applications. Many of them went on to secure admissions at prestigious institutions such as the University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, and King’s College London.

These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt my communication style to different age groups and learning needs, while nurturing my passion for teaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing.

My Proudest Achievements

Alongside my teaching and mentoring experiences, I have also been fortunate to achieve recognition at the national level. For instance, during my bachelor’s, I co-developed a prototype of a smart knee actuator that won first prize at the Smart India Hackathon 2022, India’s largest innovation competition. I also contributed to my team’s success in the Indian iGEM League, where we secured a bronze medal for our synthetic biology project.

However, two of my proudest achievements come not from my own success but from those I have guided. My juniors, under my mentorship, went on to win the Smart India Hackathon, and one of my recent tutoring students—whom I supported in chemistry just three weeks before his exam—secured second place in his class.

While I take pride in my personal accomplishments, I find it even more fulfilling to see my students and juniors succeed. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that my guidance and encouragement have helped others build confidence and achieve their goals.
