Hi, I’m Swetha, a first-year medical student at the University of Buckingham and a High Distinction Biomedical Science graduate from Monash University.
I know exactly how overwhelming the medical pathway can feel because I’ve lived it.
I’ve completed the GAMSAT (overall 65, with a 70 in Section 2), achieved 4th quartile in CASPER, and interviewed at multiple medical schools across Australia and the UK. I was also offered an Honours research position in Neurology at The Alfred Hospital before ultimately choosing to pursue medicine internationally.
What makes me different as a tutor is not just my scores, it’s my strategy.
I’ve learned:

Beyond academics, I volunteer with St John Ambulance Service, which has strengthened my clinical reasoning and communication skills. I understand both the academic and human side of medicine.
Most importantly, I remember what it felt like to not have clear guidance. I mentor the way I wish someone had mentored me: structured, honest, strategic, and encouraging.

My teaching style
My teaching style is structured, strategic, and highly personalised. I focus on building strong foundations first, then layering exam technique and application strategy on top. I break down complex concepts into simple frameworks and teach students how to think.
For GAMSAT and interview prep, I emphasise pattern recognition, timing, and structured responses so students develop consistency under pressure. I provide honest, constructive feedback while maintaining a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes.
Most importantly, I adapt to each student’s strengths, gaps, and goals. Some students need confidence building; others need refinement and challenge. I meet them where they are and help them move forward with clarity and momentum.
My past experience
I have over five years of tutoring and mentoring experience, working with students across various academic levels. I tailor each session to individual learning styles, goals, and expectations, ensuring structured, efficient, and results-driven progress. My approach balances clear guidance with active engagement, so students build both confidence and mastery.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements reflect both academic excellence and resilience. I graduated with a High Distinction in Biomedical Science from Monash University while balancing leadership and volunteering commitments. I achieved a 70 in GAMSAT Section 2 and 4th quartile in CASPER, interviewing at multiple medical schools across Australia and the UK before commencing medical school at the University of Buckingham.
I was also offered a competitive Honours research position in Neurology at The Alfred Hospital, demonstrating my commitment to research and academic rigour.
Beyond academics, my work with St John Ambulance Service has been deeply meaningful. Serving on the frontline has strengthened my clinical judgement, communication, and leadership skills and reinforced my dedication to medicine.
What I’m most proud of, however, is not a single score or offer but my persistence. I navigated a highly competitive pathway, adapted strategically, and built a medical career across two countries. That journey has shaped me into both a resilient student and a committed future doctor.
