About Me

Hi, I’m Lillie! I achieved A*s in A-level Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Economics before going on to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oxford, where I graduated with a First Class degree. I was also awarded the Academic Exhibitioner Prize by Balliol College for consistent academic excellence, and I enjoy bringing this same passion for education into my role as a tutor. As President of Oxford’s Biomedical Sciences Society, I have a passion for science, something I am keen to share with my students.

I’ve been tutoring A-level students for several years and really enjoy helping them feel more confident in their subjects and reach their full potential, with one parent kindly giving the following feedback: “Lillie has been an absolutely outstanding tutor. We have been incredibly impressed with the level of detail, commitment and time she has given.”

Over the years, I have pursued a range of hobbies that combine physical challenge, creativity and personal growth. I am an avid runner, enjoy kayaking, and play both electric guitar and piano. These hobbies have allowed me to develop discipline, resilience, and focus, qualities I bring to my professional life as a tutor.

My teaching style

My tutoring approach is highly tailored – I take time to really understand each student’s needs, learning style, and goals so I can adapt my lessons to suit them best. I aim to make sessions engaging and enjoyable, while also being approachable and encouraging so that students feel comfortable asking any questions, no matter how small.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievement to date is having graduated with a First Class degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Oxford, where I was also awarded the Academic Exhibitioner Prize by Balliol College for consistent academic excellence. Achieving this required not only dedication to mastering a highly challenging and fast-paced curriculum, but also balancing research projects, practical work, and active engagement in the student community. I am particularly proud of the depth of understanding I gained in the medical sciences, as well as the skills I developed in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communicating complex concepts clearly — skills I now bring to my tutoring to help students achieve their own academic goals.

During my time at Oxford, I was also elected President of the Biomedical Sciences Society, where I organised events connecting students with leading researchers and clinicians. Balancing this leadership role alongside a demanding academic schedule required strong time management, teamwork, and communication skills which I also now bring to my role as a tutor.
