About Me
I graduated from the University of Oxford with a first-class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and have an MA in politics from Kings College London (Distinction).
I have worked as a professional Oxbridge admissions tutor for the past 5 years, specialising in courses such as PPE and E&M (although my expertise will be helpful to any student applying to a course requiring the TARA exam). My role involves working with students on a 1-1 basis, as well as running programs and short courses in schools.
I have a place secured to begin studying for a PhD at Kings College London this autumn, and expect to ultimately find a career within academia. I have several published research papers on topics relevant to the content we will cover during our lessons. Beyond this, I founded and run a publishing business.
My teaching style
A systematic approach to the TARA grounded in formal logic: I teach from the ground up, showing students the philosophical system of formal propositional logic upon which the exam is based. We will then apply this to questions from past papers, initially working through question slowly before taking on a role closer to a sports coach in optimising and fine tuning the details of exam performance (for example in relation to exam timings).
I base mock interviews on real questions used in the Oxford admissions process. Many students have reported that their real interview covered similar subject matter to one of the mock interviews I provided. Delivering genuine Oxford style mock interviews requires the tutor to fully understand the subject matter, I believe that only someone currently immersed in modern academia is able to provide this.
My past experience
I have over 500 hours of experience with applicants over multiple cycles of Oxford admissions. For some students this involves guiding them through the whole admissions process while for other I provide an intensive intervention directly before the TARA exam or interview.
My Proudest Achievements
