Hi! My name is Beatriz and I am a 2nd Year Medical Student at HYMS. I really enjoy teaching others and the satisfaction of seeing someone you mentored excel. I am a strong believer that we all have different, unique ways of learning which I will help you find! I am a kind and compassionate person who is always willing to help!
This is my 3rd year tutoring now after I has begun in college at the start of Year 13. Since then I have gone on to tutor many amazing students who have gone on to achieve incredible A-Level and GCSE grades.
I achieved all A* at A-Level in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. I also did 11 GCSE’s, including separate sciences and maths, and achieved all grades of 8 and 9. I got into medical school in my first round of application, so if you have a child thinking of applying, I can also guide them with the process of generating a strong application!
My teaching style
My teaching style is interactive, focused on active learning and critical thinking. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, using real-life clinical cases, Socratic questioning, and collaborative problem-solving to engage students. Sessions are tailored to individual learning needs, and I encourage students to explain concepts back to me for retention. Additionally, I make complex topics easier with visual aids, mnemonics, and analogies. This approach is particularly effective for aspiring medical students as it fosters a deeper understanding of medical concepts and promotes application of knowledge in clinical settings, essential for future practice.
My past experience
I have been tutoring now since the start of Year 13, making it my 3rd consecutive year tutoring! I enjoy this job and it is even more rewarding to see my pupils excel.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include earning all A* at A-level, which required strong discipline and dedication, alongside balancing rigorous study schedules. Additionally, being accepted into medical school was a huge milestone for me, reflecting my passion for healthcare. I’m also proud of the clinical skills and knowledge I’ve gained throughout medical training, enabling me to assist patients and work effectively in teams. Moreover, tutoring fellow students and witnessing their success has been highly rewarding, as it allows me to share my knowledge and contribute to their growth.
