Emma
About Me
Hello 👋,
My name is Emma, and I am an experienced STEM Tutor who loves to educate, guide, and never give up on students – ensuring that each lesson we have fulfils the student’s academic goals.
As a tutor, I will also provide helpful resources tailored to students’ interests and learning styles, sparking their curiosity while maintaining a focus on the academic curriculum to help them pass tests and exams.
A typical lesson will include some pre-work ( videos, multiple choice questions or food for thought, short essays!! ) to prepare for the lesson, then discuss strengths and weaknesses under the topic after initial exposure – helping active recall and proceeding to work on past papers and challenges to strengthen
knowledge and application of topics to exams and real life.
I am a recent A-level graduate, now studying Bioengineering (BSc) at Keele University (soon to start second year), being part of various and diverse activities (honestly, I do sports, literature and short courses on cancer and coding programmes in my spare time ), I am sure life experiences will enrich my tutoring to be relatable and relevant.
My teaching style
My teaching style involves determining the type of learner my student is and asking about their academic goals before tutoring begins.
Mindmaps, diagrams and PowerPoint presentations, as well as recommended documents, are sent pre- and post-lessons. Past question papers and exam-style questions are integrated into each lesson
