13About Me
Hi! My name is Arsa and I am a second year medical student at Imperial College London. I am friendly, patient, encouraging and absolutely enjoy teaching. I am excited to offer help with KS3, GCSEs and A-Levels to all levels of students. I can also offer help with admission tests such as the 11+, UCAT and BMAT. Whilst I was studying I managed to develop key strategies which vastly improved my grades and as a tutor I will share these strategies in order to assist students to reach their maximum potential. As a tutor I will create a learning environment which will instil a love for learning, encourage students to ask questions without hesitating and to be able to apply their knowledge and progress further in their learning. I will also provide assistance over email with any difficulties a student faces when doing their homework or revision.
My teaching style
I will tailor my teaching style to suit each student’s different learning style. At the start of the lesson I will test the student with some questions or via a quiz to see whether a student can recall previously taught content and can apply this confidently. If the student faces difficulties with this or had any problem areas with their homework, I will go through this with the student until they master the content. I will use Powerpoints and interactive whiteboards to assist students to visualise concepts and I will use quizzes to help students to retain the information. Most importantly, I will use past exam questions with students and teach them strategies tailored to each type of exam question in order to boost exam technique.
My Proudest Achievements
My 11+ score resulted in me obtaining places from all the King Edward grammar schools in Birmingham.
I achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8 at GCSE.
After completing the BMAT and a successful interview, I obtained a place to study medicine at Imperial College London.
