About Me
Hi! My name is Adam Genga, I’m 24, and I am a student studying graduate entry medicine at Newcastle University. I am currently in my third year and am on placement at RVI and Freeman. Before medicine, I completed a 4 year integrated master’s in Natural Sciences which consisted of Biology and Geography. I am passionate about teaching and am currently involved with the Medical Education Society, delivering teaching sessions to the pre-clinical years for their exams. In my spare time, I love to go to the gym and lift weights, I enjoy reading fantasy and I’m also involved in hockey.
I would love to help tutor you and am happy to support students with personal statement writing, UCAT coaching, and interview preparation (Panel and MMI). I have completed over 400 hours of tutoring for Medic Mind and have successfully tutored students into Warwick, Newcastle, Queen Marys, Sheffield, Nottingham, Barts, Aberdeen, Leicester, and St George’s. I am also able to support students academically with Biology and Maths tutoring at GCSE and A level.
My teaching style
My teaching style will be completely flexible based on your needs. We can start by assessing a baseline of where you are currently and then proceed to see what your goals are. We can then set out a timeline to work out what support and tutoring I can provide to make sure you reach your goals! I am personable and will be happy to help work through any issues you are having or any questions you have. In terms of academic support, I am happy to provide tutoring on both specific topics and exam question support. I will work this around students’ school curriculum as well so my tutoring best supports them.
My past experience
I worked as a cover teacher and teaching assistant part-time whilst at University. I taught a wide range of subjects, but had a particular focus on Maths and Biology, helping to teach up to A-level. I have also tutored individual students in Maths and Geography.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are successfully getting a place for graduate entry medicine and completing the Great North Run half marathon!
