About Me
I am a medical student at the University of Edinburgh with a genuine passion for helping students build confidence in their learning. I am friendly, approachable and patient, and I enjoy working with students to help them understand difficult topics in a clear and manageable way.
Academically, I achieved all 9s at GCSE, all As in Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, was awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, and received offers from all four medical schools I applied to.
I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual, whether that means breaking concepts down step by step, using diagrams, practising exam questions, or focusing on revision techniques and confidence-building. I also think it is really important to understand what you are learning, rather than simply memorising it, as this helps with long-term memory and confidence in applying knowledge.
Having gone through the school exam system and medical school application process myself, I understand how stressful it can feel. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and improving at their own pace. I am happy to help with subject knowledge, exam preparation, study skills, and guidance for students applying to medicine or those with an interest in science more generally.
My teaching style
My teaching style is friendly, patient and personalised. I adapt sessions to each student’s learning style, breaking topics down step by step and using diagrams, examples and exam-style questions where helpful. I focus on helping students truly understand what they are learning rather than just memorising facts, as this supports long-term memory and confidence. I also aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes. For students applying to medicine, I can also offer interview preparation, including practice interviews and specific, constructive feedback to help improve confidence, structure and communication.

My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include achieving all 9s at GCSE and all As in Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, as this reflected the hard work and consistency I put into my studies. I was also very grateful to be awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, which allowed me to explore my interest in STEM. I have also enjoyed exploring my wider interests through independent projects, including my EPQ on machine learning in healthcare and my HPQ exploring different coding languages. These projects helped me combine my interests in science, technology and problem-solving. Outside of academics, I am proud of the balance I have tried to maintain through music, sport and art. These have always been important parts of my life and have helped me develop confidence, creativity, discipline and teamwork. I think having interests outside studying is really valuable, and it has helped me stay motivated, well-rounded and positive while working towards my goals.
