About Me
My Name is Lucy, I was born in England before moving to Switzerland with my Family. In September 2021 I came back to the UK to start studying medicine at Newcastle University. Having been at a school where going to medical school in England was not a common thing I had to figure everything out for myself. Through a lot of research and hard work I ended up getting offers from all 4 of the universities which I applied to. I’m really passionate about bringing this knowledge to others and busting a lot of the myths surrounding medicine applications (its not as difficult as it seems!!). All throughout school I was really interested in the sciences and maths (social studies and the arts don’t mix well with me) and I am still really interested in teaching and breaking down these subjects to make them a lot more manageable. Aside from academics and medicine I love to swim, and have swam competitively since I was really young. I love to have a laugh with my friends and family and use anything as an excuse to travel and see the world.
My teaching style
I truly believe that the key to success with everything in life is simulation. If you can simulate the situation you are going to be in before the exam day or before the interview then you will be prepared, confident, and perform well. Hence my teaching style focuses a lot on practice questions and using incorrect answers as teaching opportunities. I consider myself a very open and laidback person so I am always here to answer questions and take the stress out of the exam&application process.
My past experience
I have 2 admissions cycles experience with tutoring & guiding students through the medicine admissions process and 3 years experience tutoring in maths, biology, and chemistry. Every student I have assisted with their medical school application has gained a place at medical school during that application cycle.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are definitely getting into medical school (I was told by a teacher at my school to not bother and consider something else instead but ended up getting 4 offers!) and finishing school with the highest grades in my year group.
