Hello!
My name is Dara and I’m a 4th Year Medical Student at the University of Southampton. Education is something I love and commit a lot of time and effort towards, but I also love help making change. I am enthusiastic about tutoring and helping other students thrive and reach their academic goals, whatever that may be! Whether it’s getting into Medicine, or University, or passing their Math’s GCSE, I hope I can help in any way! Outside of school I have a lot of other passions and hobbies, I love to keep fit and run, but also play sports such as Football. These things teach me so much about the world and I hope to pass on that knowledge. I believe the core to success in life is balance, and being able to juggle all aspects of life
I have ranked #1 in my Medical School Exams at my university, received A*A*A* in my Maths, Biology and Chemistry A-levels.
My teaching style
I love an student centred style. Everyone is unique and there does not exist a one shoe fits all method. What I find helpful is firstly asking the student what normally works for them and adapting to them.
My past experience
I have tutored my fellow peers in Medical school, I have tutored 1st years while in 2nd year.
During my A-Levels I volunteered to tutor GCSE students in Maths, Science, English and IT
My Proudest Achievements
I would say getting into Medical School was one, as for me it was a tough and long journey, having moved to the UK only 4 years before getting in, and having to take a gap year.
I would also say ranking #1 in my Med School Exams, as I remember feeling like I did not belong there at the start, and to end the year getting the highest ever grade, was truly humbling.
