About Me
Hi, I’m PB, a doctor entering GP training in August 2026. I completed my Foundation Training in Oxford and have a strong interest in medical education and supporting students through key transition points. Alongside my clinical work, I examine OSCEs and interview applicants for medical school, which has given me a clear understanding of what selectors look for in terms of structure, insight and professionalism.
Before studying medicine, I worked as an optometrist and graduated with First Class Honours which strengthened my communication skills and clinical reasoning. I’ve also taught on an international SJT course, delivered university lectures, run practical workshops and clinical skills sessions, and led modules within a medical school. I enjoy helping students feel prepared, confident and informed as they navigate applications, interviews and early clinical training.
My teaching style
I’m calm, clear and encouraging in my teaching. Students say I simplify complex ideas and make sessions engaging and memorable. I focus on building confidence through clear explanations and practical, structured guidance.
My past experience
I have a wide range of teaching experience in the medical field including formal university lecturing, small group teaching, practical workshops and clinical skills sessions. I have provided bedside teaching, and led modules within a medical school. I also hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education.
