About Me
Hi! My name is Rachel. I am a First Year Adult Nursing student at City, and I’m hoping to do Medicine for my Post Graduate.
I had taken Biology, Chemistry and Psychology for my Alevels, with Psychology being one of my favourites. I have had experience in both doing/ conducting Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing interviews, as well as teaching students GCSE English Language and Psychology (A-Level too).I was cofounder of my school’s medent&stem society, where we ran various sessions with lower years to help aid them in their progress towards their aims- which I am hoping to do so for my fellow students on this platform. With being a student and understanding the struggles and frustrations that comes with it is something that makes me a better tutor. I aim to have open discussions with my students when it comes to approaching different concepts and difficulties they may be facing. I hope to bring a positive impact to your progress towards your goals!
My teaching style
My teaching style consists of using various means – I like to use a hybrid of resources, student centred teaching, discussions and activities to strengthen my students knowledge and solidify their confidence when tackling their content.
My past experience
I had tutored a few students in Year 12 with Psychology AQA AS Level content, and also tutored GCSE English Language (AQA).
My Proudest Achievements
-I had led my team to win a medical hackathon at Imperial against 150 students across England and Scotland
-My team mate and I had been shortlisted top 10 against 200 in an Imperial competition based on tackling Lung infections using Genetically Modified Bacteria
– I had achieved a Grade 9 in my GCSE English Language by myself as I had chosen to retake- I had been predicted a Grade 5 (covid year), and after 2 years I had self taught myself the course in the span of 2 months.
– I was deputy head girl at my sixth form
