5About Me
Hi, I’m Jamie, and I’m a Land economy student in my second year at the University of Cambridge. I achieved a First Class Honours in my first year, as well as three A*s and an A in sixth form studying Economics, Geography, Maths and Further Maths. Having over 300 hours of tutoring experience, I’ve supported many students through the Oxbridge application process and know how impactful personalised, focused guidance can be. In this way, I can give you all the tools needed to achieve your dreams of receiving that offer. I am also fully equipped to tutor Economics, Geography, and Maths at both A Level and GCSE, with experience across the full range of exam boards. I love working with people and I find it incredibly fulfilling to support students in the position I was once in, helping them turn their ambitions into reality.
My teaching style
When working with aspiring Land Economists, I structure my lessons in the style of a Cambridge supervision. I like to assign reading which is helpful to understand the course, which we will then discuss and dissect. This is the most effective way to prepare for an interview, as supervisions closely mirror the format and style of the actual interview process.
When tutoring for A level and GCSE subjects, I like to be guided by the student to focus on particular areas of difficulty. We will spend time together identifying points of weakness, working hard to build confidence on these topics to guarantee a mastery of the subject.
My past experience
I have over 300 hours of tutoring experience, both in preparing students for the Land Economy course and teaching A level and GCSE subjects
My Proudest Achievements
I planned and executed a 330-mile cycle ride from Chesham to Land’s End in 2022, raising £3500 for cancer charities.
I have achieved distinction in eight graded piano exams.
I created my own revision website ‘Geogonomics’, which helps students from around the world to master A level Geography and Economics.
