About Me
Hey! I am a recent History graduate from the University of Cambridge.
Recognising the significance of the help I received in applying to university and completing my studies, I began my tutoring journey working with schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I worked with high-achieving students going through key parts of the curriculum, with an aim of ensuring that students were not missing out on their academic goals because of the pandemic. Since then, I have worked with a number of organisations and students, delivering a high standard of mentoring and academic lessons to help students of all abilities achieve their academic goals.
For my AS exams, I ranked within the top 3 of her school for Psychology, History and Religious studies, achieving a minimum of 90% in the exams I sat. I later replicated this a high level of results for her A-Levels, that were completed in my final year. During my time at high school, I have held positions of Student Councillor, Executive Councillor and Prefect. I was also an active member of my school’s music society where I have delivered a number of performances on behalf of the school. I have also taken part in the debating society and competed in debate competitions around my local borough.
My aim is to work with you to achieve whatever goals you may have.
My teaching style
The most important thing is ensuring that you are able to progress and achieve the academic goals that you’ve set for yourself. This is why in the first lesson we’ll spend some time detailing out what it is you struggle with, what do you hope to achieve and the ways we can work together to work on these things. Lessons will always be interactive. Rather than me just speaking at you., i will explain things and take breaks to ask you questions to check for understanding. Lessons will not always look the same, its important to find innovative ways to help you learn and get the best results possible. We will also look through exam questions and answer some together, initially. Once we’ve talked through this I will get you to answer some questions on your own and give you feedback. We will aim to achieve a goal at the beginning of each lesson and work towards achieving this at the end of the lesson.
My Proudest Achievements
Amongst my greatest achievement is graduating and getting to know myself more. However, the achievement that I am most proud of at the moment is learning how to ride a bike. It may seem really trivial, but I have attempted to cycle since I was about 5 but had been held back by the fear of falling. Since COVID I made a decision to not allow fear to stop me doing things that I want. Now being able to ride a bike signifies me achieving this.
