Hi, I am Aarav and I am a current first year student at the University of Birmingham studying medicine. I got offers for Newcastle, Leicester and Liverpool along with an offer at the University of Birmingham for sports science. I got 8s and 9s at GCSE, 766 at HL in the IB (biology, chemistry, geography) and went to King Edward’s School Edgbaston for my secondary level education. I enjoy teaching and mentoring students of all abilities and aim to make sure everyone can reach their dreams and targets. I play cricket (have played for county, school’s 1st team, club’s 2nd team and now university), hockey, golf and even play the guitar to stay active and keep my mind fresh and I know how important maintaining a healthy lifestyle is, along with studies and work to allow us to really maximise our learning. I got 2920 in my UCAT and managed to succeed in 4 interviews. I hope I’ll be able to help students get the grades they want.
My teaching style
I try to be supportive and helpful and try to make sessions fun and enjoyable with games but also informative so that students can understand concepts in a memorable way to allow for students to improve. My aim and focus is to help reinforce the concepts behind topics to allow for revision and questions to be easier to do and understand.
My past experience
I have tutored multiple people in the past, even when I was still at school, in GCSEs and IB, helping students to get really good grades which were higher than their expectations and that felt so rewarding even for me as a tutor.
My Proudest Achievements
I have gone bald for Macmillan cancer support and that was a big moment in my life, trying to support people who were suffering with cancer. Also being able to get into med school after a lot of work and sacrifices meant a lot to me as I felt all my hard work was justified in the end.
