Hi, my name is Lavanya. I’m a third year undergraduate studying Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Oxford. I am passionate about teaching Mathematics and helping students become strong Mathematicians. I tailor my lessons to each individual student as I appreciate everyone has different learning proficiencies. I have extremely strong foundations in Maths, and have achieved top results in GCSEs, A-levels and University exams. I have achieved top grades in the MAT and TMUA admissions test, and passed through all my interviews for Studying Maths at Oxford. I tutor Oxbridge admissions for Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, which included admissions tests and Interview prep. I’m confident I can help students build both their skills and their confidence and pass through all these exams and interviews with flying colours.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centered, patient, and adaptable. I believe in meeting students where they are and building their confidence through clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and lots of encouragement. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I often use guided practice to break down complex maths concepts. I also like to regularly check for understanding and adapt my pace and approach to suit each student’s needs and learning style.
My past experience
Yes I do, I have privately tutored Mathematics for four years as well volunteering and Mentoring at different university outreach events.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are getting the top grades in GCSEs and A-levels in all my subjects studied as well as going through the Oxford admissions process and getting to study at this top institution.
