5About Me
My name is Bless Ngoma; I am a recent 2:1 Oxford graduate. During my time at Oxford I have consistently achieved a 2:1 in my examinations and for for my A-levels, I have achieved A*A*AA. Whilst maintaining my commitment to my academics I have been keen to cater to my individual interests and hobbies which is why I have continued to play basketball, create content and also help with outreach initiatives whilst at University so I believe I can also help in the areas of time management and organisation. I have been trusted to tutor students since my time at Sixth form and I have found it extremely rewarding. The opportunity to see my students improve in their studies and believe that they are capable of achieving success in their academics is what I enjoy most about this. By selecting me as your tutor, I ensure I will give you my best efforts.
My teaching style
I aim to cater the way I teach to my individual students as we all learn differently. However, what remains consistent is that I aim not to lecture but to engage in back and forth dialogue. This is the way I am taught in my Oxford one-on-one tutorials and I have learned so much from it. Rather than trying to speak at my student for about an hour I find it is much more helpful to understand how they perceive a certain topic and try to help them fill in the remaining gaps through interactive discussions.
My past experience
Yes, when I was an academic mentor in sixth form, I helped 75% of my students see ‘significant progress’ by the time of their next exams
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is creating content whilst at the University. Many people have stereotypes and preconceptions of the University which prevent them from applying. With my content which has amassed 20,000 views I have helped to shine more visibility on the University and to help people understand that anyone can fit there.
