About Me
Hello! My name is Andrea Juby and I’m currently a first-year medical student at the University of Liverpool. I’m thrilled to have received offers from two out of the three medical schools I applied to and I know how competitive and challenging the medical school application process can be. I’d love to help other aspiring medical students achieve their goals by offering tutoring and guidance throughout the application process, especially when it comes to the UCAT.
Having been through the application journey myself, I understand the importance of preparation and the value of a structured approach. Whether you’re looking for tips on acing the UCAT, refining your personal statement, or practicing for interviews, I’m here to provide support and share strategies that worked for me. Together, we can boost your confidence and help you put your best foot forward in your application.
Feel free to reach out, I’d be excited to help you on your path to medical school!
My teaching style
My teaching style is centered around active learning, where I believe that practicing through questions and learning through experience is key. By applying knowledge in practise questions, you not only reinforce what you’ve learned but also build confidence in talking through interview style questions. However, I also understand that every student has a unique learning style. I truly appreciate when a mentee learns better through different strategies and I’m always happy to tailor my approach to suit your needs, whether that means more focused practice, visual aids, or verbal explanations. The goal is to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in your learning journey.
My past experience
Last year, I tutored GCSE-level Maths during my time in sixth form. It was an incredibly rewarding experience as I helped students build their confidence in key concepts and improve their problem-solving skills. I tailored my sessions to each student’s individual needs, whether that meant going through specific topics or providing extra practice with exam style questions. Tutoring gave me a deeper appreciation for different learning styles and the importance of patience and clear communication in helping others succeed.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest moments has been adjusting to an independent lifestyle away from my family. Moving away to pursue my studies at the University of Liverpool was a big change and it wasn’t easy at first. Learning how to manage my time, finances and daily responsibilities on my own pushed me to grow in ways I never anticipated. While it was challenging to be away from home, I’m proud of how I’ve become more self-sufficient, resilient and confident in managing life’s demands. It’s a rewarding feeling to know that I’m thriving in this new chapter of independence.
