Hi, I’m Josh, a 5th year medical student at the University of Leeds.

I’m 23 years old, originally from Rotherham.

Past experience as official University of Leeds MMI marker, vast experience supporting students with Interviews, UCAT, A levels and personal statements. Experience supporting university UCAT/Interview outreach sessions tailored to supporting students with scoring highly in entrance examinations and interviews.

I thoroughly enjoy tutoring both A level subjects and interviews.

I completely understand how difficult the process is and feel that I can provide an invaluable insight into how the process works and be able to help throughout the journey. For interviews I aim to provide students with both niche and critical information to integrate into their answers to enable them to stand out and be successful at interviews. I aim to make every lesson as engaging and useful as possible allowing students to see their improvement on a lesson by lesson basis. I have tutored successful interviewees across almost every university in the country and know the MMI interview process interview inside out. I would love to support you on your medical school journey!

I have experience running MMI style mock interviews which is something I can do in our sessions in preparation and marking them officially for university.

The journey starts with the UCAT which is a tricky exam that can be overcome with good preparation and technique which I always aim to work on with the students I support. I have lots of experience supporting with UCAT via university outreach programmes and online tuition and know where students can struggle and improve their score. I have excellent resources to really be confident with all question types ensuring students are as prepared as possible for the real thing.

I thoroughly enjoying tutoring A levels, with lots of experience understanding how to approach questions and how to make sure you can get the maximum amount of marks through understanding the question and what it is looking for. I try to explain things in the best way possible and can give extra questions and resources to support understanding of particularly difficulty topics.

Throughout my education I have always enjoyed and excelled at maths and science so would thoroughly enjoy sharing this knowledge and help to both solidify and enrich your mathematical ability. I studied Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A level achieving A*/A*/A. I did AQA biology A level so have lots of knowledge of the essay section.

I love studying Medicine and want to make sure you also have the best possible chance of being in my position in a years time. Having worked as a student ambassador at the university for the past 4 years supporting with outreach and open days, I can enrich students with additional knowledge about the university of Leeds specifically such as teaching style, interview insights, knowledge of course structure providing a ‘cutting edge’ at interviews. In addition I empower my students to read beyond the regular interview preparation suggestions and to practise those most difficult questions and scenarios, making you as prepared for interview as possible.
