About Me
Hi! I’m Eleanor and I’m in my third year of studying Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. I’m from Newcastle in the North East of England and I completed my A-Levels in Psychology, Mathematics and History at a state school. I started tutoring whilst in my second year of Sixth form for a family friend, before starting online in my first year of uni.
Whether you’re studying for GCSEs, A-Levels, an admissions test or an interview, I understand how daunting it can be. I like to ensure my students are comfortable in tutorials and make sure they truly learn and benefit. I do this through collaborating with you and adapting my teaching to suit your needs. I’m also on hand to give advice about exams or university applications should you have any questions. The most important thing is to make sure you reach your full potential 🙂
My teaching style
My teaching style is very collaborative; I think it’s important that the student is involved in deciding what to focus on and which activities/tasks they are comfortable with and feel they benefit from the most. I like to encourage discussion and critical thinking to ensure that there is a good level of understanding, and I think it’s important to continuously knowledge check what was learned in previous sessions.
My past experience
I have experience tutoring IB Psychology and A-Level Psychology (AQA and Edexcel), as well as GCSE Maths (Edexcel), English (AQA) and History (Eduqas). I also have experience tutoring for a Psychology Oxbridge application and the TSA exam.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is definitely getting my place at the University of Oxford. I have very little guidance in applying due to my background so I’m pleased with myself for gaining a place.
