About Me

Hi, my name is Om Pancholi, and I’m a fifth-year medical student who has been through the same competitive and demanding journey you’re about to begin. I received multiple interviews and offers, and along the way I learned exactly what works—and what doesn’t—when applying to medical school. I’m passionate about sharing those insights so you can approach your applications with confidence and clarity.

Throughout medical school, I’ve tutored students for a range of exams and medical school admissions processes, helping many secure their dream offers. I genuinely enjoy identifying each student’s strengths and weaknesses and tailoring my teaching to help them perform at their absolute best. Watching students achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is something I find incredibly rewarding, and it has shaped me into a patient, structured, and supportive tutor.

My aim is to pass on the knowledge, skills, and strategies that helped me succeed, and to guide you step-by-step towards earning that coveted place in medical school. I look forward to supporting you on this journey.

My teaching style

My teaching style is friendly, patient, and highly student-centred. I aim to create a comfortable, open environment where you feel confident asking questions, sharing ideas, and exploring any uncertainties without hesitation. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel supported rather than judged, so I prioritise encouragement and clear, honest guidance throughout our sessions.

I tailor each lesson to your individual needs—identifying your strengths, addressing areas for improvement, and helping you build the skills and confidence needed for the medical school application process. My goal is to ensure you gain the knowledge, techniques, and self-belief required to earn that coveted place in medical school, and I will always do my absolute best to help you get there.

My past experience

I have extensive tutoring experience built up over five years of medical school. I began tutoring with Medic Mind in my first year, where I learned to manage my own timetable alongside a demanding academic and clinical schedule. This required strong organisation, reliability, and the ability to consistently deliver engaging, productive lessons.

Since then, I’ve expanded my experience significantly. I’ve tutored applicants for medical school interviews, admissions tests, personal statements, and general academic support—helping many students secure offers from competitive medical schools. Across the years, I’ve developed a teaching approach grounded in empathy, clear communication, problem-solving, and adapting to each student’s individual learning style.

In clinical placements, I’ve also taken on informal teaching roles with peers and junior students. These experiences have strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts clearly and support learners at different stages.

Overall, five years of consistent teaching, mentoring, and patient-facing communication have made me a confident, structured, and supportive tutor. I bring maturity, experience, and genuine commitment to helping students achieve their goals..

My Proudest Achievements

One of my proudest achievements is raising over £1,000 for a charity close to my heart by training for and completing a marathon. It was one of the toughest but most rewarding challenges I’ve taken on, requiring discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose. Knowing that my effort directly supported a meaningful cause made the experience incredibly fulfilling.

I’m also proud of what I’ve accomplished during medical school—successfully securing multiple medical school offers, progressing through five demanding years of training, and taking on leadership, teaching, and research roles. From conducting research, to presenting at conferences, to mentoring students and helping them secure their own medical school places, each experience has shaped me into a more capable and well-rounded future doctor.

Together, these achievements reflect my commitment, consistency, and passion for contributing to both the medical community and the wider world.
