About Me
Hi I’m Maya. I am a recent law graduate from the University of Bristol.
I have studied all core llb law modules (tort, land, public, criminal, trusts and contract law) as well as other law modules such as internet technology, EU, medical, family, immigration, jurisprudence and more.
I currently work at The Lawyer as a Senior Research Analyst, where I provide subscribers with key insights on commercial law litigation and disputes, as well as international matters. I can provide valuable knowledge and perspectives to potential university candidates or training contract applicants or anyone interested in applying to the legal sector.
I have also interned at a medico-negligence firm (2023), was President of the University of Bristol Chess Society where I oversaw a society of 100+ members (2023-24), volunteered in Fiji on a 4 week program (2023) and have tutored regularly since 2016.
I am a well rounded individual and I am incredibly capable of ensuring my tutee achieves their goals.
My teaching style
First, I discuss my tutee’s goals with them and their parents (if requested), to understand what they’d like to achieve from the sessions.
I then proceed to create a study and revision plan tailored to their specific goals and the course’s objectives, to ensure the sessions stay on track and to ensure the best outcome.
From there, dependent on the amount and style of sessions organised, I will tutor my student using a variety of methods, such as going through best answers, marking papers, hosting mock interviews/how to prepare for interviews, creating broad revisions boards etc.
