I received my early education in Kent, studying at Tonbridge School where I achieved 7 A*’s and 3 A’s at GCSE level. I then went on to study my A levels, I chose Pre-U art, Mathematics, Geography, and Physics where i achieved A*,A*,A*, B respectively. I applied to study Architecture at Cambridge, UCL, Sheffield, and Lancaster. I was successful in all my applications but in the end, I chose Cambridge.

During my time at university, I engaged well with my academic studies as well as extra-curricular activities. To name one, I found a passion in rowing which taught me a great deal about leadership and working as a team. During the breaks between terms, I had the chance to work in a small architectural firm in London which gave me invaluable experience. Even getting the chance to design a real project on my own.

I have now completed my undergraduate degree in Architecture at Cambridge where I achieved a 2, 1. I am now looking to join the working world for the next two years, after which I will return to my studies for a Masters in Architecture. More specifically I am intent on gathering a variety of work experience, and tutoring is an integral part of this.

I can adapt my tuition to a variety of subjects and interests, which is integral to distinguishing a candidate from the competition. The academic demands of applying to medicine are high, and as such, I had to develop a strong work ethic and revision/exam techniques, which I am more than happy to pass on in our sessions.

I used tutors throughout secondary school, mainly for help with Biology, Chemistry and English. I found the help of my tutors invaluable; without it, I don’t think I would have achieved the same grades or even gotten into medical school!

I also think that the interview preparation course that I attended was crucial to me receiving offers from Medical schools. Hello! My name is Emily and I am a recent graduate of the University of Oxford, where I read Geography and was awarded an academic scholarship. I am currently studying for a law conversion and will shortly commence a training contract at a magic circle law firm.

I began offering tuition shortly after I completed my A-level studies at Godolphin &
Latymer, where I achieved A*s in Mathematics, Geography, French, Spanish and in an EPQ. Since then I have gained experience supporting primary students working towards 11+ and Common Entrance exams, worked with students preparing for their GCSE and A-level exams, including revision and consolidation work throughout the year as well as exam paper practice and final preparation, and helping students with university applications and transfer work.

I am passionate about learning and love the direct impact 1-to-1 tuition allows me to have on
my students and their own learning journey. I take a keen interest in prompting students’ own independent learning and ensuring their progress with me. My lively, energetic and fun approach helps my students stay engaged and make my sessions memorable.

I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at Clare College, University of Cambridge, working in ethics and the philosophy of science. Before this, I completed a Master’s in Philosophy of Science (first class with Distinction) and an undergraduate degree in Philosophy (double first class), both at Cambridge. For my PhD I was awarded full funding under a joint UKRI AHRC scholarship and the Clare College Badger studentship – a funding award that included panel selection from the Department, the University of Cambridge and the UK government’s research council. I was also offered full PhD funding from the University of Oxford medical department, King’s College London law department (the only student to receive a scholarship offer from KCL that year) and UCL Philosophy. Prior to this I also received an offer of a two-year scholarship at Pembroke College, Oxford, which I declined. At Cambridge I have won 5 awards for finishing first in my year in the research component of my Master’s, as well as for finishing in top 10% and top 5% of my year each year of study.

My Name is Ariella and I am a Medical Student at the University of Nottingham who has a passion for teaching and education.

I especially love when I can teach a student a concept they did not understand before. I have a Level 5 200 Hour TEFL qualification, received 9 1/2 9s at GCSE in my and AAA in Biology, Chemistry and History A-level as well as received an A* in my EPQ on Medical Ethics.

I have experience tutoring science at GCSE and A-level, English as a Foreign Language and helping out with medical applications through both other companies and privately.

I started my Classical studies in Year 7 at school before going on to take my GCSE Latin in 2005 and A-Levels in Latin and Classical Civilisation in 2007.

I studied for my BA in Classics (including Latin and Classical Greek) at Manchester, graduating in 2012, and then stayed to study for my MA in Classics and Ancient History and gained the highest award (Distinction).

I have worked as a teacher in various settings including state and independent secondary schools and sixth forms for the past ten years and as an examiner for the major exam boards since 2015.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy walking in the Pennines and Lake District, going to concerts and the theatre, particularly to watch modern retellings and university performances of ancient myths, including the tragedies and comedies for which Athens became so famous.
