Theology Tutors : 1-1 Theology Preparation

Hi!! I’m Charlie, this year I will be pursuing postgraduate study at the University of Warwick (MA Philosophy) following my recent graduation from the University of Exeter with a high 2:1 in BA Philosophy and Theology.

In my third year at Exeter I held a position on committee for the Philosophy Society, helping to provide further academic opportunities outside of the seminar room! Outside of academic study I enjoy climbing and other forms of exercise; watching a variety of films; continuing to expand my ‘has read’ list; pursue an interest in filmmaking and photography, both on personal projects and as a freelancer.

Throughout my education I have pursued an interest in the humanities (Philosophy, Theology, English, History and Geography) and look to share my knowledge with students as various teachers have with me. I am also well disposed to aid with personal statement writing, interview preparation and extended essay writing.

Hello! My name is Henry and I am an experienced tutor studying Philosophy and Theology at the University of Oxford, having achieved 3 A*s at A-Level, an A* EPQ and 11 9s at GCSE. I also received a Distinction in my first-year exams at university.

I love to work with students of all ages and levels of study. I bring a friendly and relaxed approach to tutoring, and am flexible and communicative in organising sessions. I have worked with tutees from 7 years old to Oxbridge applicants, as well as having previously worked multiple summers as a House Parent at an international summer school and as an Outdoor Activity Instructor.

I can tutor students for university admissions including Oxbridge; EPQ having achieved A*; Maths up to GCSE, having achieved an A* at A-Level and 9s in Maths and Further Maths at GCSE; Philosophy/Religious Studies/Ethics/Theology at A-Level, as this is my degree subject; Government and Politics up to A-Level, having achieved A* at A-Level; English up to GCSE having achieved 9s in English Literature and English Language at GCSE.

I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Philosophy and Theology. Prior to attending Oxford, I achieved A*A*A* in English Literature, Latin and Religious Studies, with 5 A*S, 4 Grade 9s and a Grade 8 in GCSEs.

For the past few years, I have been a private tutor which has also entailed mentoring young students and seeing them progress and achieving their dream spots at their universities. This has enabled me to build client relationships and to handle multiple concurrent tasks, since I balanced tutoring with my ability to thrive in Oxford’s rigorous academic environment. I also believe that I work well under time constraints and to meet deadlines, which is an ability that my time at Oxford has prepared me well for.

I am well-placed to provide tuition at 11 and 13+, as well as English Language, English Literature and RE GCSE, A-Level and degree-level tuition. I am also up-to-date on examination syllabi and the requirements needed for achieving top marks.

I have tutoring experience in GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Religious Studies and Oxbridge Classics admissions. I also mentor students in application for Oxbridge Classics, as I changed degrees in my third year, and assisted a student in her successful entrance to Oxford for Classics via personal statement, interview/test advice and general information about the course and university life. Therefore, I am available to support Oxbridge Classics admissions.
