→ Do I have to live in the UK to do this?
For our international students residing overseas, we prioritise convenience by providing seamless arrangements. As 70% of our student body falls into this category, we offer pick-up services from Heathrow airport to your accommodation, where a dedicated member of the Study Mind team will warmly welcome you. Furthermore, if needed, we can also arrange transportation back to your departure terminal for a hassle-free experience.
→ How old does my child have to be to attend this?
We recommend this course to anyone aged 16-25. This means any child in Year 9 or above or any graduate entry applicant.
→ What is the cancellation policy?
Once the work experience week is booked, it becomes non-refundable due to the extensive planning involved, including arrangements for accommodation, room bookings, and other logistics. To secure your spot without the risk of losing it, you have the option to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500, with the remaining payment due prior to the course's commencement.
→ Will my child have to travel between sites alone?
At our Psychology Work Experience week, the safety of your child is our top priority. They will be under the constant care and supervision of the Study Mind Safeguarding team during any necessary travel.
→ What is the accommodation like and where will I be staying?
During the course, you will be accommodated in single rooms at UCL Accommodation, where breakfast and dinner will be provided. Your stay will commence on Sunday night before the course begins and students will check out on Friday, resulting in a total of 5 nights. Rest assured, the premises have 24/7 security, and Study Mind staff, who are trained in first aid and safeguarding, will be present to provide assistance. Additionally, we can arrange airport pick-up services for your convenience.
→ How do I apply for a visa?
Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor
The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.
We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

→ For meals, do you deal with dietary requirements?
Many of our students are based overseas and have specific dietary requirements such as being vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal, among others. We will make sure to accommodate these needs and make the necessary adjustments to your meals.

Absolutely, prior to attending the week, we kindly request that you inform us of any health conditions you may have so that we can take necessary precautions beforehand. → Who will be looking after my child?
Your child will receive unwavering support from our highly trained Study Mind staff throughout the entire duration of the programme. Our staff members undergo rigorous DBS enhanced checks and are extensively trained in first aid and safeguarding. We take extra measures to ensure a safe environment, including the availability of a female staff member both on-site and within our accommodation premises. Students will also have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number, which can be shared with parents and guardians for added peace of mind.
→How many days does the Psychology Work Experience run for?
The summer school programme runs for five days, starting at 9 am and ending around 3:30 pm each day. You will receive a detailed timetable well in advance, providing specific timings for each session. If you opt to stay at UCL Halls, we have a range of exciting evening activities planned for you, such as movie nights, bowling, and other engaging options. Our work experience opportunities encompass a wide array of Psychology disciplines, including clinical psychology, occupational psychology, sport psychology, and many more.
→ Do I need to pay up front?
Recognising the financial challenges posed by the current economic situation, we strive to provide flexibility by offering interest-free installment plans for 3, 6, and 12 months. Please note that while a non-refundable deposit of £500 is necessary to secure your spot, we aim to accommodate your needs by offering convenient payment options.
→ Do I need to book Study Mind's accommodation?
While booking our accommodation is not obligatory, you have the choice to either commute or make independent arrangements if needed. However, opting for our accommodation offers distinct advantages.
