I started my Classical studies in Year 7 at school before going on to take my GCSE Latin in 2005 and A-Levels in Latin and Classical Civilisation in 2007.

I studied for my BA in Classics (including Latin and Classical Greek) at Manchester, graduating in 2012, and then stayed to study for my MA in Classics and Ancient History and gained the highest award (Distinction).

I have worked as a teacher in various settings including state and independent secondary schools and sixth forms for the past ten years and as an examiner for the major exam boards since 2015.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy walking in the Pennines and Lake District, going to concerts and the theatre, particularly to watch modern retellings and university performances of ancient myths, including the tragedies and comedies for which Athens became so famous.
