Hi, I’m Imaan. I’m a third year medical student at the University of Plymouth, I know the interview process inside out and I know that it takes A LOT of determination. I have independently achieved all my medical school offers and thats why I know that although it seems impossible, there’s always a way to achieve your dreams and I’m here to help you find it! I have lots of experience coaching students and am easy to talk to. I have had to deal with the daunting experience of applying to medical school, independently, including; taking the UCAT exam twice! This has taught me everything there is to know about the test and I have developed many tips and tricks. I am also a foundation student and this pathway requires a lot of thought and planning, I’d be happy to answer any questions regarding any of the unconventional pathways to medicine. Hi! My name is Maya and I’m a third year medical student at the University of Liverpool. I remember how worried I was throughout the whole medical application process, and to be honest, I wish I had a tutor who could spend time going over UCAT questions and interview practice with me. During my time in sixth form however, I have collated a lot of resources for different elements of the process. Having faced hurdles in my application process into medical school, I know how scary applying to university can be. My job is to help make this application process less daunting and maximise your chances of success.

Achieving 6A*s at A-Level and obtaining all my GCSEs at a grade 7-9, I taught myself how to master the skill of application and examination technique. My role now is to help as many other students to maximise their potential like I did.

Having tutored both privately and with other educational organisations covering 11+ admissions, GCSE and A-Level I have been exposed to a range of different examination boards including but not limited to AQA, WJEC, OCR and Edexcel. At the 11+ level, I have tutored students undertaking the 11+ CEM (Durham University) examination as well as GL examinations. I have also successfully taught students undertaking the 13+.

Within medical school, I am the current lead for Imperial College London’s Widening Participation Programme (WATCCH) for Medicine. This role helps prospective students from disadvantaged backgrounds interested in applying to medical school, maximise their chances of success. Having ran MMI and personal statement workshops and working with both the medical school and other current medical students, I have seen what makes a medical application stand out from the crowd.

I am a driven, ambitious and enthusiastic tutor and medical student at top Russell Group University in London. I believe that my experience as a tutor has allowed me to understand the difficulties and realities of tutoring online, students at times may not always be engaged with the lesson; this is because, in real life, there is an element of non-verbal communication that cannot be expressed online, therefore during my studies where I share my iPad screen, I make lots of use of the laser pointer tool to add some non-verbal communication element to my address and to keep students actively engaged. I understand that this is more difficult with younger students. However, ensuring the class is as interactive as possible can enable great success with student learning.

Hello! My name is Tareef and I am currently a 2nd year student studying at the University of Oxford.
For some context, I attended an underperforming state school for my secondary school (only 25% of students get a grade 5 in English and Maths), yet I managed to achieve the highest results in my school (5 grade 9’s and 3 grade 8’s). Whilst studying for my GCSEs, I found out that tutoring other students also helped me reinforce my learning and I realised I enjoyed helping my peers also succeed by teaching them the trickier concepts on a 1-to-1 basis that they would otherwise have not received.
After my GCSEs, I was fortunate enough to get a full scholarship to my local grammar school, which is where I did my A-Levels – achieving grades of A*A*A*A. The Sixth Form provided great tailored support throughout my Oxford application, and I hope to provide this support to capable students who have not been fortunate enough to receive the same level of support.
