Hello! I’m Ameerah, a 2nd year medical student at Bristol. I have always been passionate about science and medicine, and was delighted when I achieved my dream of starting medical school! I sat the UCAT in August 2022 and scored 3080, a score in the top 3% of the country, with scores in the 790-810 range in Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Decision Making. I also sat the BMAT and received a top 10% score in Section 1. I received interview offers from all four of my unis and received offers from Manchester, Bristol and BSMS. I took Biology, Chemistry, French and Spanish at A Level and achieved A*A*A*A.

I chose to tutor with Medic Mind as I understand how difficult A Levels and gaining a medical school place can be. I want to offer students the support they need and to show them that they are more than capable of succeeding.

Outside of academics, I am passionate about writing, embroidering and gardening.

I am a first-year medical student at University College London (MBBS) with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring students. Alongside my studies, I tutor students from KS1 and KS3 through to GCSE and A-level across Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Spanish, and admissions-related preparation. Beyond academics, I have always been actively involved in drama, acting, and sport, which has played a major role in shaping how I teach. Performing on stage taught me confidence, clarity of communication, and how to engage an audience, while sport instilled discipline, resilience, and the importance of consistent practice.

I have completed over 100 hours of tutoring, working with students of varying abilities and learning styles, including SEN students. These experiences have reinforced my belief that no two students learn in the same way, and that effective teaching must be flexible and empathetic. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and motivations before tailoring lessons to suit them.

Having recently completed my own A-levels and transitioned into medical school, I understand the academic pressure students face and the frustration of knowing content but underperforming in exams. I aim to bridge that gap by helping students build confidence, develop strong exam technique, and, most importantly, begin to enjoy what they are learning. I firmly believe that students perform best when they feel supported, understood, and genuinely enjoy their studies.

Hi there! My name is Sophie and I’m a third year medical student at the University of Bristol. I did my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths and sat the UCAT, gaining a score in the top 1% of applicants. I was interviewed by all 4 universities I applied to and achieved 3 offers from Bristol, Southampton and Sheffield. In my most recent exams at medical school, I was awarded a certificate for my performance. I achieved A*s in both Biology and Physics at A-level, and was only one mark off an A* in Maths and got an A in Chemistry. In my GCSEs, I achieved grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography, as well as an A in the FSMQ.
I absolutely love teaching people and watching them develop confidence in their skills. I completely understand the anxieties that come with studying for A-levels and applying for medicine, and am happy to give my tips for surviving the process.
Since starting university, I’ve begun taking salsa classes, as well as volunteering with several groups.
