We believe financial income should not be a barrier, so up to 40% of our places will be given to students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds for absolutely free. No, residing in the UK is not a prerequisite for participating in this programme. It is open to students from all over the world who meet the age requirements and are interested in gaining valuable experience in history.

This programme offers valuable work experience suitable for Year 12 students (aged 17-18), enhancing their UCAS personal statement for university applications. Moreover, students aged 16-18 and individuals between 14-25 years old can also benefit from participating in this programme.

Once you've booked, please note that the History Summer School is non-refundable. This policy is in effect because we must finalize logistics, including accommodation and room bookings. However, if you're uncertain about attending but still want to secure your spot, you have the option to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500. The remaining payment will be due before the start of the course.

Safety is paramount at the History Summer School. Your child will be accompanied by the Study Mind Safeguarding team for any required travel. While there may be travel between the accommodation and workshops or excursions, rest assured that your child will be fully accompanied throughout the entire journey.

You will be provided with single rooms in Central London, where breakfast and dinner will be served. Your stay will begin on Sunday night, the day before the course commences, and check-out on Friday, amounting to 5 nights in total. The accommodation ensures 24/7 security, and Study Mind staff, trained in first aid and safeguarding, will be present on-site to assist you. Additionally, airport pick-up can be arranged for your convenience.

Students coming to the UK for the History Summer School will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor

The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.

We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

Throughout the entirety of the programme, your child will benefit from dedicated support from our Study Mind staff, all of whom have undergone DBS enhanced checks and comprehensive training in first aid and safeguarding. Moreover, students will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number that they can use whenever necessary. This number can also be shared with parents and guardians if needed.

The History summer camp extends over five days, commencing at 9 am and typically concluding around 3:30 pm each day. However, you will receive a detailed timetable in advance, specifying precise timings for each activity. For those opting to stay at our accommodation, we have arranged enjoyable evening activities, such as movie nights, bowling, and various other engaging options, to enhance your experience beyond the classroom.

We comprehend the challenges presented by the current economic climate regarding upfront payments. To offer flexibility, we provide interest-free installment plans spanning 3, 6, and 12 months. However, please be aware that a non-refundable deposit of £500 is necessary to secure your spot.
