Hi there, my name is Hammad. I’m a Final year medic at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). I came across this opportunity from Medic Mind to get into teaching, something very much needed as a surgeon or doctor in general.
Due to being a high performer throughout my science subjects from highschool right through to university, I have taught a lot of my peers informally during class or outside of it. I feel I have a rather unique teaching style, using analogies and getting students to explain what they’ve learned or know already back to me, essentially incorporating my learning style (The Feynman Technique) into how I teach. Its lead to quite a high satisfaction rate among my peers and even patients, with my peers coming back whenever they don’t understand topics, recommending me to friends and even some recommendations by peers to go into formal teaching in the future, so I thought, why not put it to good use and get into tutoring.

Hiya, I’m an incoming medical student at Imperial College, and my application cycle was 2023 so I know all too well how students might be feeling and what’s to come this year. In the UCAT I achieved a score of 2970 last year and would be more than happy to spend time with you to get the amazing results that you deserve. I am a driven, ambitious and enthusiastic tutor and medical student at top Russell Group University in London. I believe that my experience as a tutor has allowed me to understand the difficulties and realities of tutoring online, students at times may not always be engaged with the lesson; this is because, in real life, there is an element of non-verbal communication that cannot be expressed online, therefore during my studies where I share my iPad screen, I make lots of use of the laser pointer tool to add some non-verbal communication element to my address and to keep students actively engaged. I understand that this is more difficult with younger students. However, ensuring the class is as interactive as possible can enable great success with student learning.

Hi, my name is Amar and I am a first-year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I have personal experience in going through the entire medical school application process, and so I understand how difficult it can be, particularly balancing personal statements, admissions tests, interviews, exams and extracurriculars.

I have good knowledge of what it takes to pass the various stages of the application process – through scoring in the 99th percentile on the UCAT exam, passing panel and MMI interviews at universities including Cambridge and UCL, and achieving 3 A*s at A-Level in biology, chemistry and maths. I hope that I can use this knowledge and share it with my students, from tips and tricks that I used to overcome difficult aspects of the courses/exams/interviews, to specific strategies and methods I used in these scenarios.

I have always enjoyed teaching my fellow students and friends as it gives me a sense of purpose, and that is what inspired me to become a tutor. I hope to be able to continue this and help other students to achieve their goals through my tuition sessions.
