My name is Mildred and I am an international student currently studying Medicine at Cardiff University. The road to medical school isn’t easy, but it is achievable with the right guidance and support. As a tutor, I hope to pass on the knowledge and advice that I have gathered over the years to help others on their journey to medical school.
I tutor children from GCSEs to A levels, helping them achieve grades that set them up for a strong application. I also offer guidance with medical school applications and help students in preparing for their interviews. Through mock scenarios, detailed feedback and in depth analysis with each student on their strengths and weaknesses, I help my students become well rounded applicants. Overall, I have been able to give my previous students the guidance into building strong medical school applications all the way from the grades needed to the skills required to succeed in their interviews.
I am extremely passionate that students get the best possible chance when applying to medical school; many students have the potential but not everyone is strategic with their applications. I hope to help as many students as I can step closer to their dreams of becoming a doctor.
Hi I’m Alina!. I’m a second year medical student at the University of Liverpool. I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them to achieve their goals so tutoring is a great fit!
At A-level I studied Biology (A*), Chemistry (A) and English Literature (A*).
At GCSE, the main subjects I studied were: Maths (8), English Literature (9), English Language (9), Biology (9), Physics (9) and Chemistry (8)
The academic demands of applying to medicine are high, and as such, I had to develop a strong work ethic and revision/exam techniques, which I am more than happy to pass on in our sessions.
I used tutors throughout secondary school, mainly for help with Biology, Chemistry and English. I found the help of my tutors invaluable; without it, I don’t think I would have achieved the same grades or even gotten into medical school!
I also think that the interview preparation course that I attended was crucial to me receiving offers from Medical schools. This allowed me to face my fears by stimulating the interview environment so boosted my confidence for the real ones. I also think the feedback I received was so useful to reflect on and analyse in order to improve my performance. I therefore would really like to help others in the same position!
Hi! I’m Lauren and I’m a second year Psychology in Education undergrad student! Having gone through the standard English state school system, I understand and relate to students struggling with maintaining a healthy school-life balance whilst remaining calm and confident regarding their results. Seeing how myself and my fellow students struggled during our GCSEs and A-Levels inspired and pushed me towards an Education oriented degree and career path (hopefully!).
The bulk of my GCSE Education happened throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually receiving my GCSEs at the end of the 2021 academic year. Because of this, I like to think I have a unique experience regarding Education, giving me a wide range of perspectives and keeping me open-minded to the struggles students face. During my secondary education, I also had exam arrangements. As I am a SEN student myself, I am particularly sensitive to the difficulties SEN students face when moving through the school system and understand how SEN can change an individuals perspective of education for the negative. However, education is something I remain passionate about and I aim to make learning more accessible to those who feel averse to learning because of educational needs.
In my spare time, I regularly hike around national parks in Northern England, particularly the Peak District and North York Moors. I also compete in University athletics competitions, especially cross-country racing.

Hi! My name is Emily, I’m 19 and a student at the University of East Anglia and entering my second year studying BSc Environmental Sciences – hoping to pursue a career as an Environmental Consultant and as an advisor to the government on Net Zero ambitions. I have a passion for Geography and Science (Biology and Chemistry) achieving A*AA at A-level as well as an A* in my EPQ which investigated how impactful recycling is in my local area of London on the climate crisis. This is also reflected in my GCSE grades (7-9/A-A**) achieving 9s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Food Preparation and Nutrition. I am a determined individual who had to work hard for my academic success, often putting in 12 hour days at sixth form, but paid off after receiving 3 Russell Group offers from Durham, Manchester and Southampton – but eventually picking UEA, where I fell in love with the course and the acres of land!
Hi,
I’m Kami and I’ve been working as a doctor in Durham for 2 years. Throughout medical school, I mentored peers with a-levels and with admission to medical school. I am keen to continue expanding my teaching as this is an area I am passionate in. I am available for tuition with GCSEs and A-Levels (with my main focus being biology, chemistry, maths, psychology); I can also help with mentoring with applying to medical school e.g. UCAT help and interview prep.
I take a very hands on approach in tuition; I will firstly discuss with the mentee which area they need support with and from their comprise my own learning materials in the form of posters/mind maps/study sheets. Together, we will discuss this content and simplify any difficult areas. Following this, I find that mentee’s benefit from “teaching others” based on their understanding to consolidate the learning. Finally, I put together a small end of topic assessment to consolidate the learning, and check if there’s any areas we need to cover again.

Hi, I’m Amith, a third-year medical student with a passion for teaching and mentoring. Over the past few years, I have dedicated myself to helping students excel in their academic pursuits, particularly in the subjects of A-Level and GCSE Chemistry and Biology. My journey in education began from a place of empathy and understanding, as I vividly recall the challenges I faced during my own studies, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when I managed to achieve top grades despite the unprecedented difficulties.
As a tutor, I aim to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment that not only addresses the academic needs of my students but also boosts their confidence and fosters a genuine interest in the subjects. My teaching philosophy revolves around clarity, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that each student grasps complex concepts in a manner that suits their learning style.
In addition to my work with A-Level and GCSE students, I also specialize in preparing prospective medical school applicants for the rigorous journey ahead. This includes guidance on personal statements, interview techniques, and entrance exams. I take great pride in the success of my mentees, many of whom have secured places at prestigious universities. My approach to medical school preparation is holistic, focusing not just on academic excellence but also on developing the interpersonal skills and resilience necessary for a successful career in medicine.
My experiences have taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of a strong support system. Through my tutoring, I strive to be that support system for my students, helping them navigate their educational paths and achieve their goals. Whether it’s mastering the intricacies of organic chemistry, understanding the fundamentals of biology, or acing a medical school interview, I am committed to guiding my students every step of the way.
Thank you for considering me as your tutor. Together, we can achieve excellence and unlock your full potential.
