Hi 👋 I’m Kara, a History and Politics graduate from Brasenose college, Oxford! I am super passionate about all things History and Politics as well as International Relations, English literature and Economics. I am available to help students with a wide range of challenges, from Economics A-level to achieving full marks in an EPQ. Outside of studying, I enjoy travelling, reading fiction and all types of exercise, especially the gym and I am a firm believer in having a great work life balance. After studying independently for many months during the pandemic and missing GCSEs, I am in a unique position to understand the mental stress placed on high achieving students who have missed large parts of their education; as your tutor I will do everything I can to support you academically and emotionally. On top of this, I have over three years of tutoring experience in various subjects and specialize in Oxbridge admissions. Please contact me with any queries, I look forward to meeting you soon!
Hi there!
My name is Ruairi (think roar-ree). I have recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with, among other things, a first-class with distinction in my dissertation on public policy. Throughout my time at Cambridge, I have taken papers spanning development, economics, law, and policy. I am combining the knowledge and skills I gained during my undergraduate degree to become a corporate lawyer at a global, Top 20 AM Law firm.
In the meantime, I would like to tutor you! I have thoroughly enjoyed tutoring in the past and believe I can help you excel in a wide range of subjects. I would also be more than happy to help with applications and interviews, be that to universities or to law firms. More generally, I can give you advice on navigating college/sixth form, university, and the corporate world, based on my past successes (and failures!).
Outside of academia and work, I like to watch Arsenal and international rugby. I am also hoping to get back into gym and kickboxing in the new academic year, as well as jewellery-making.
I hope to hear from you soon – please do reach out if you are interested!
As a current PhD student in English at the University of Cambridge, with a solid academic background including a BA in Comparative Literature from QMUL and a Mst in English Literature (1830-1914), I am thrilled to offer my expertise and guidance in English language and literature, creative writing, Italian, and essay skills, as well as help with university admissions.
I am bilingual, fluent in Italian and English, and since 2016, I have been tutoring students aged 10 to 19 in various subjects. Notably, I have assisted four students in securing MSt/MPhil offers from Oxbridge in humanities subjects and supported many others in gaining admission to prestigious institutions within the Russell Group.
My tutoring style is characterised by enthusiasm, organisation, and adaptability to your specific needs. I believe in fostering a comfortable learning environment where questions are encouraged. Having navigated the application processes myself, I understand the importance of tailored support for personal statements and interview preparation.
Whether you are preparing for exams, refining your language skills, or navigating the complexities of university applications, I am here to help. Together, we will work at a pace that aligns with your learning style, building your self-confidence along the way 🙂

Hello! I’m Hortense, a native French speaker with over 10 years of experience teaching French and German in schools across the UK and Ireland. I hold a PGCE in MFL and a TEFL qualification, and I’m currently awaiting the results of my MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I teach online with Lingoda, working with adult learners from around the world at various levels, and I love creating engaging, interactive lessons that build confidence and real-world communication skills. I’ve also taught French creatively through cooking, drama, and PE classes, encouraging children to explore the language in fun, hands-on ways. My approach is student-centred and discovery-based—I guide learners to find patterns, form rules, and take ownership of their learning. During my MSc placement, I also offered counselling online, which deepened my ability to listen, adapt, and support people holistically. I speak several languages including Romanian, German, and Japanese, and I use this experience to empathise with and support language learners on their journey. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced speaker, my goal is to help you feel empowered, independent, and excited about learning.
