We believe financial income should not be a barrier, so up to 40% of our places will be given to students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds for absolutely free. No, you do not need to live in the UK to participate in this programme. It is open to students from all over the world who meet the age requirements and are interested in gaining valuable experience in chemistry.

This programme is beneficial for Year 12 students (aged 17-18) as it provides valuable work experience that can be included on their UCAS personal statement for university applications. Additionally, students aged 16-18 and any individual between 14-25 years old can also benefit from participating in this programme.

Once booked, the Chemistry Summer School is non-refundable. This policy is in place because we must make arrangements for all logistics, including accommodation and room bookings. If you are unsure about attending but wish to secure your spot, you have the option to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500. The remaining payment will be due before the start of the course.

While there may be travel between venues and excursions, the Study Mind team will be on-hand every step of the way. They will accompany your child to and from the accommodation and will be with them through every part of the week.

You will be accommodated in single rooms in Central London, where breakfast and dinner will be provided. Your stay will commence on Sunday night, the day before the course begins, with check-out on the Friday, totaling 5 nights. The accommodation offers 24/7 security, and Study Mind staff, trained in first aid and safeguarding, will be available on-site to assist you. Additionally, airport pick-up can be arranged for your convenience.

Students coming to the UK for the Chemistry Summer School will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor

The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.

We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

Throughout the entire programme, your child will receive dedicated support from our Study Mind staff, all of whom have undergone DBS enhanced checks and extensive training in first aid and safeguarding. The chemistry summer camp spans five days, beginning at 9 am and usually ending around 3:30 pm daily. However, you will receive a detailed timetable in advance, outlining precise timings for each activity. For those choosing to stay at our accommodation, we have organized enjoyable evening activities, including movie nights, bowling, and various other engaging options to enrich your experience outside of the classroom.

We understand the challenges posed by the current economic situation regarding upfront payments. To provide flexibility, we offer interest-free installment plans over 3, 6, and 12 months. However, please note that a non-refundable deposit of £500 is required to secure your spot.
