Hi! I’m Rebecca, a Leicester-based medical student in my fourth year of study. Prior to studying medicine I completed a year of a Biology degree in which I scored a first and transferred course internally within my university. My journey into medicine was a little more complicated than usual, being from the first Covid-19 cohort. I got calculated grades at BBB for my A-levels since we couldn’t take the exams, so ended up taking the much more competitive internal transfer route. If you’re in a similar situation to me where you don’t have the grades you’d like, or are worried about the applications in general, I’m here to help!
Aside from my personal experience, I have also worked for 3 years with my medical school in a Student Ambassador role. This includes giving admissions talks to parents and students, giving specific interview preparation sessions, and giving Access to Medicine support for pupils who may have extra barriers to getting into medicine. I also have prior experience in tutoring for academic subjects, namely GCSE biology. I have had three year 10 students who I tutored for 1-2 years each and who all went on to achieve great results at GCSE. I am very passionate about what I do, and I’d love to help you get where you want to go, wherever that may be. Thank you for you consideration!
Hello, I’m Jamie! I’m currently a 2nd year undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying Classics. I got straight 9’s at GCSES and 4 A stars at A-Levels which included Latin, Ancient Greeks, Maths and Further Maths (I know – weird mix!). I have experience tutoring Maths and Classics to students of a wide range of abilities and ages, and I’ve always found it to be a super rewarding experience! I think my teaching style can be described as interactive and engaging, and I hope to make the classes as equally interesting as educational. I also have experience helping sculpt university applications, especially Oxbridge, be it interview practice or putting together the perfect personal statement! Outside of academics, I love sport, playing squash and football regularly, and I am also super interested in travelling and generally making the most of life!

I sat the Oxford admissions twice, having applied the first year at school without success and then re-applying the next year, so I understand the process well. I know that it is a daunting experience, especially the interview process, but I think I can offer a lot of advice and practice to potential applicants. My personal tutor at St Hilda’s College was in charge of that college’s interview practices, so I volunteered to help with admissions week in my second and third years. I have spoken to her at length at what tutors are looking for from interviews, and think I can help applicants feel confident and best able to express their talents and knowledge at interview. I completed a degree in Classics, taking both Latin and Ancient Greek, with a specialism in literature and history. For my finals I took exams in Athenian democracy and theatre, Roman republican history and Latin literature.

I am proficient in Ancient History, both Greek and Roman and excel at archaeological subjects, having received 75% for my undergraduate thesis. I have practical experience in excavations and museum work, as well as a unique perspective through my knowledge of multiple modern languages. I am capable of teaching students for GCSE, A-Level, IB and undergraduate degrees. I also deliver tutorials for Oxbridge applications, entrance exams (CLAT) and interviews and am able to give my students detailed insights into the application and interview process. I believe in an ambitious and organised approach to learning, in my time in education I have learnt two ancient languages from scratch and am able to speak 6 modern languages.
