Student Code of Conduct: Summer Programmes

Last Updated: January 2026

We want everyone on the Study Mind Summer Programmes to have a fun, safe and useful experience. We have certain rules in place to ensure that this happens, and we need you to sign this Agreement to show you have understood this, and will respect the rules.

Programme: General

  1. Students must be respectful to all students, Study Mind staff, accommodation staff, medical professionals and other staff you meet during the programme. This means listening, speaking kindly and following instructions. If you have any questions about anything you are asked to do, please feel free to speak to other Study Mind staff.
  2. Students must not bully or harass any other students on the programme, in line with the Behaviour Policy.
  3. Students agree to do their best to participate in the activities so everyone can benefit positively from the camp experience.
  4. Students will act with academic integrity at all times and not engage in plagiarism or cheating of any kind if participating in research, projects or presentations.
  5. The purchase, possession or consumption of all alcohol including ‘Alcopops’ is strictly forbidden at the camp. The purchase, possession, or consumption of any drug (other than those prescribed to you by your doctor) is strictly forbidden. This is inline with the Drugs and Alcohol policy.
  6. Smoking is strictly forbidden anywhere on site.
  7. Students will need to be respectful with their mobile phone use and will be expected to have them turned off during any lesson times or in an activity where its use might cause disruption.
  8. Students are asked not to take photos of themselves or others without permission, or during the events. Study Mind staff will be taking promotional photos, so if you would like a personal photo in the venues or during the sessions, please ask first. Students will refrain from posting photos of others on social media without prior permission.
  9. Students are asked to always be mindful of their social media usage and to not post or distribute images or information that could be harmful or distressing to others.
  10. Students agree not to leave the venues at any time without a member of camp staff.
  11. Students must wear the T-shirts and lanyards provided at all times during the events to avoid anyone getting lost- these T-shirts will help you be identified quickly in a crowd.
  12. Please be respectful of the tight schedule of the programme. Ensure that you are ready to go at the beginning of each session and ready to leave promptly at the end. If you have more questions or need more time, please speak to Study Mind staff but it will not be possible to spend more time with professionals or in clinical settings.
  13. Be respectful of the settings and equipment in all venues.
  14. Please be respectful of the rules of venues and visits, including professional offices.
  15. Report any poor behaviour to Study Mind staff – we are there to help you.
  16. Please arrive promptly and ready to learn for every session. This means having anything you need in order to take good quality notes (recording on your phone may not be allowed) and anything you need to be productive over the day.
  17. You must ensure that you are responsible for any medication you need to take. Please speak to the Study Mind team on the first day and they will be able to help you.
  18. Please be responsible with your belongings. Study Mind staff are not there to help look after any phones,  jumpers or anything else you leave behind.

Accommodation

  1. Students should behave appropriately in their bedrooms, particularly after ‘lights out’ when respectful quiet should be maintained. It is forbidden to leave the bedrooms after lights out without the express permission of a member of camp staff.
  2. Students will be asked to be sensible with their phone use during the evenings and may be asked to hand phones in overnight if inappropriate behaviour occurs.
  3. Boys and girls are not allowed at any time in each other’s bedrooms.

I understand that I must follow the rules above during my Study Mind Summer Programme. If I do not follow the rules, I understand that I may be removed from the programme, either temporarily or permanently.
