Hello, I’m Talhah Bin-Islam—a highly driven biomedical science graduate preparing to begin Graduate Entry Medicine at the University of Nottingham. I am deeply passionate about education, academic excellence, and mentoring the next generation of achievers. I have extensive tutoring experience across a wide range of subjects, supporting students from 11+, KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-Level, and beyond. I also specialize in university preparation, including medical school applications at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

My approach is not just about delivering knowledge but building strategic thinking, resilience, and long-term success. I believe in creating high-impact results by tailoring learning to each student’s aspirations. With a strong foundation in medicine, education, and personal development, I bring energy, precision, and ambition to every session. I completed an AS Level award in English Literature and A Levels in History, Psychology and Art and Design. I then achieved a 2:1 in BSc Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2014. In 2018, I successfully completed a PGCert from the University of Birmingham in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, and in 2021 I qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.
I am a creative-thinking and motivated individual looking for a new challenge to broaden my horizons. I have previously worked as a psychological talking therapist, and I am also a qualified secondary teacher with extensive experience in schools; which has led me to my current role as an SEN tutor for adolescents who are refusing school attendance. My role is to provide them with the emotional support and encouragement needed to return to school, as well as helping them to learn and revise all curriculum material needed to pass their exams. I relish the opportunity to build positive relationships with others, as this is what motivates me, and I love to see meaningful changes which lead to bright futures; as a result of the work that myself and others have put in. I believe that in order to overcome any challenge, the first step is to identify the barriers to change. This requires the development of trusting relationships with students, as well as their parents and key staff members at their enrolled schools. Once these barriers are identified, we are able to collaboratively come up with a tailored plan to integrate students back into school.

My specialties are in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. I have also helped students with medical school entrance exams such as IMAT, BMAT and UCAT, and Medical School Interviews. I help students at achieving excellent grades by opting student specific tailored teaching approach.
I graduated with an honor in Masters in Medicine and Surgery degree from University of Pavia in Italy. Prior to that I had achieved 4A*s in my A levels Pre-Medicine program and 8A*s in O levels, earning recognition as the top student in both school and high school. This foundation has given me the ability to excel as an educator in these relevant education boards.
Over the years, I have been teaching every student with a unique method, catering to their individual learning style and requirements. Be it improving grades, deepening one’s understanding of a subject, or getting prepared for university entrance exams, I develop strategies for sure success.
I have achieved various certificates of recognition for excelling in providing quality education.
I am familiar with using digital tools like Zoom, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office in ways that make online learning engaging and effective. Such skills ensure effective and structured communication, even in virtual environments.
