Loreto Grammar School, a voluntary-aided selective grammar school, caters to academically promising girls within the top 50% ability range in and beyond Trafford. Fostering a unique religious ethos, the majority of students (approximately 98%) are baptized Catholics. Admissions Requirements

Admission to the School will be made by the Governing Body subject to the following set of admissions categories which will form a priority order where there are more applications for admission than the school has places available. In each of the identified categories, a requirement of applicants is that they have passed the Governors’ Entrance Examination.

Where a child has an EHC plan or statement of special educational needs names Loreto Grammar School, and the child has passed the Governors’ Entrance Examination, then the school will admit the child and the number of available places will reduce accordingly.

Application Process 

In order for your daughter to sit the Entrance Examination for entry to Loreto

Grammar School at Year 7, the completed online Registration Form MUST be submitted by the stipulated deadline. Your daughter’s original Baptismal Certificate, for those baptized girls of any denomination, must be supplied to Loreto Grammar School immediately to complete the registration process. You should enclose a stamped address envelope with the correct postage for its return. Baptism must have taken place prior to the date of registration for the Entrance Examination.

The examination will consist of closed GL tests in English and Verbal Reasoning plus a

closed internal test in Mathematics.

Paper order and lengths are:

1) Mathematics: 45 minutes

2) English – GL: 45 minutes

3) Verbal Reasoning – GL: 50 minutes
